1. The University of Huddersfield was established in 1825 as the Huddersfield Scientific and Mechanic Institute.

2. The University has over 24,000 students.

3. The University has a £120m turnover and contributes over £300m benefit to the local economy.

4. The University is an outward-looking institution and our research programmes are developing our reputation at home and abroad. Many of our academic staff are leaders in their fields.

5. Huddersfield has been awarded a Centre of Excellence in Teacher Training and a Centre for Industrial Collaboration in Industrial Technology.

6. Huddersfield is an international University with students from over 130 countries including: China, Hong Kong, India, North and South America, Jordan, Pakistan, Singapore and Russia.
