At Huddersfield we explore architecture as a responsive discipline. We are sensitive to the context in which we design, and we are careful to create quality spaces and buildings that are appropriate to the needs of the user.
This course concentrates on the future of architectural design in the western world.
If you are a creative and passionate individual with the desire to make beautiful, humane, sustainable places, then we are keen for you to join us. We provide a friendly, stimulating design studio environment, good computer and model making resources, expert support and tuition and great opportunities to travel to diverse and challenging places.
As part of the International strand you are expected to travel to a non-European country for an extended field trip during which you will be able to explore issues of culture, history, character and identity. You will also carry out an analysis of a place in which you will subsequently develop a comprehensive building design. Previous locations have included Vietnam, China, India, Malaysia and the Middle East.
This course is validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and provides exemption from the RIBA part 1 examinations.
Delivered at Queensgate Campus, Huddersfield
