The University has a reputation for supporting graduates into employment, either through employment, starting their own businesses or working freelance. We support fledgling companies as well as individuals taking their own product ideas to market.

We are friendly and student-centred with a strong vocational orientation; we have strong links with commerce and industry, which is why our postgraduate employment is so high.

There are over 3,000 full-time and part-time postgraduate students out of a total student population of around 22,000. Most of these study in Huddersfield itself, but we do have students in partner colleges in the UK and abroad.

We also have a strong reputation for high quality teaching, in areas as widespread as precision engineering, IT, social work, music and health-related courses.
