Working with our academics

We believe that our work with employers should be needs-driven, not technology-led, and our approach is based around first gaining a clear understanding of your organisation. Once we understand your needs there are a number of different ways in which we can embark on collaborative work:

Collaborative research
Short and long-term research projects to support the development of new technologies, products or processes. Collaborative research can be funded 100% by company partners, or we may be able to gain Government funding to support a proportion of the costs.

Masters by Research
Our new MSc by Research is ideally suited to those working in commercial environments who wish to undertake research and development in a specific area of interest to their job.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)
The Government's flagship scheme for supporting business/university partnerships, KTPs will help you improve your competitiveness through better use of our knowledge, technology and skills.

Short courses and professional development
Working with you to enhance the skills of the people in your organisation.

Consultancy
From a few days ad-hoc work to an ongoing long-term relationship, our academics are able to share their knowledge and expertise by acting as specialist consultants. Look at Our areas of expertise for information on subject areas where we can provide consultancy support.

See our case studies for practical examples of how we work with employers.
