Project Title: Autonomic Computing and AI Planning
Project Description:
Autonomic systems embody self-monitoring and self-management abilities that enable a system to assess its own state, then configure, adapt or maintain itself in response to that assessment. This project will investigate how general purpose AI Planning software can be adapted to become a key component of an autonomic system. It will lead to the development of enabling technology for autonomic systems.
Skills and knowledge required for this project: Some understanding of AI especially automated planning and knowledge representation. Good programming skills. This would suit undergraduates (1st, 2:1 or equivalent) in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Collaboration: It is possible that research students could work with one or more of our collaborators in the Transport Systems sector.
Entry requirements: The standard entry requirement for PhD study is a First or Upper Second class honours degree, or the overseas equivalent, in a relevant subject. In certain circumstances, a Lower Second class honours degree supplemented by a Masters degree, or appropriate relevant work experience, may be acceptable.
Course fees: Tuition Fees
