Title: Research Themes in Software Engineering
Presentation by: Ron Edwards, CEO, Ambient Performance (external: Ambient Performance)
Title: Industrial Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Worlds and 3D Visualization
Abstract: Ambient has recently been awarded a Technology Strategy Board SBIR grant to integrate commercial AI packages with the Forterra OLIVE virtual world platform to model driver behaviours on managed highways. This talk will explore this work and other projects underway to utilize AI in multiuser virtual worlds for training, simulation and decision support, as well as to highlight recent developments in 3D visualization on mobiles and virtual worlds for cultrual heritage/tourism, government and business.
Ambient is interested in exploring collaborative funded research and welcomes the opportunity to share work in progress. http://ambientperformance.com
Ron Edwards is the co-founder and CEO of Ambient Performance, a UK based company specializing in enterprise virtual worlds and mobile 3D visualization for clients in government, corporate and higher education sectors. Ron is from Seattle, lives in London, and is a PhD student at SMARTlab Digital Media Institute at the University of East London, researching Collaborative 3D Visualization in the Mobile Metaverse.
