Entry Requirements

  • You should have a good first degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • In addition you would need at least two years' relevant work or managerial experience.

Introduction

Recognised worldwide as the premier management qualification, the MBA is the most advanced taught management course available in the UK. The MBA is suitable if you aspire to a senior management position. It is relevant to people from a wide variety of organisations, large or small, public, private or voluntary. The course specifically aims to develop your strategic capability. It provides an academically rigorous business and management education and aims to develop your personal, inter-personal and communication skills.

Following the taught elements of the course you will undertake a dissertation as a major project that enables you to specialise in a management area of your interest. This will be supported by workshops on research methods.

Teaching and Assessment

We use a range of teaching methods with a significant emphasis on group discussion.

You are expected to share your experiences. Lectures will provide the formal input to the modules. These will be supplemented by guided reading and case study analyses. We also use workshop, tutorial and seminar activities.

There are a variety of assessment methods, including individual and group reports, essays, learning logs, time constrained assessment activities and the dissertation.
