Choosing a work placement offers you the opportunity to develop skills and experience that will be of value to potential employers, giving you a head start in your graduate career and the potential to achieve a higher starting salary.

Business School students who completed a placement year were three times more likely to achieve a 2:1 or 1st degree award than those students who didn't (TQEF Survey 2006).

Our Business Placement Unit is dedicated to sourcing relevant placement opportunities for students and works with a wide range of local and national companies. Overseas placements in Europe and further a field may also be available.

Special Features

A management training residential in the second year aims to develop your personal and managerial skills. This normally takes place over three days in the Lake District.

Suitably qualified students may apply for direct entry at second or final year level. The degree may also lead to exemption from some of the assessments of professional bodies such as the Institute of Financial Services.
