Career Opportunities

The vast majority of our marketing graduates find jobs in a field of their choice within six months of graduating. The course can lead to a career in a variety of marketing communications and PR positions including PR manager, corporate communications executive, media planner and buyer, campaign manager and account executive.

Placement

Choosing a work placement offers you the opportunity to develop skills and experience that will be of value to potential employers, giving you a head start in your graduate career and the potential to achieve a higher starting salary.

Opting for a placement year can improve your graduate earning potential and vastly improve your chances of a better degree classification. Business School students who completed a placement year were three times more likely to achieve a 2:1 or 1st degree award than those students who didn't (TQEF Survey 2006).

Special Features

Professional Body Accreditation
The degree offers some exemption from nationally recognised professional awards offered by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Institute of
Direct Marketing (IDM).

The Marketing Society (MSoc) is run by students for students and acts as a social network bringing together first, second and final years. Members attend events with external speakers including leading academics and business leaders. MSoc also makes donations to local charities such as the Laura Crane Trust through a variety of fundraising activities.
