Teaching and Assessment

Our teaching and learning methods are tailored around the requirements of the subjects studied. Teaching and learning methods can include one-hour lectures, workshops, tutorials and seminars and may use case studies, computer-based learning or other approaches. You will have opportunities to develop personal and team working skills. Undertaking a business placement year (see below) is a vital part of that development and will significantly improve your employment prospects

Our varied assessment approaches are directly linked to the knowledge and transferable skills you will develop.

Career Opportunities

The course offers the possibility of a wide variety of career opportunities in accountancy, business and management as you will understand how organisations operate and how they are financed, whether you wish to pursue a career in the private, public or voluntary sectors.

Placement

You can choose to take a paid business placement at the end of two years of study. You can apply to a wide range of business organisations through our Business Placement Unit. These placements provide an opportunity to see accountancy and finance in action. They help you develop the knowledge and skills obtained on the course and see the pervasive influence of accountants in organisations. This is also an excellent opportunity to find out what employers are looking for.
