Huddersfield offers excellent value for money. If you choose to study here you will have access to outstanding facilities, excellent teaching staff and an experience that equips you for life after university.
The town of Huddersfield offers good value for students. Accommodation is plentiful and reasonably priced and the cost of living is very competitive. And the best news? You won’t have to pay your fees while you are studying. In fact you won't start repaying fees until you’ve graduated and earn over £15,000. To find out about the University’s tuition fees and the financial help that may be available to you, please visit our website at www.hud.ac.uk/student_finance/ or ring the Student Finance Office on 01484 473904.
Non-repayable financial support towards living costs may be available from the government and the University.
Student loans are available and are intended to cover your basic living costs. The amount you borrow can vary but you will not need to repay any money until you are earning more than £15,000 a year. For full details visit our
The University is among the UK’s top five providers of courses that contain paid work placements. Our research shows that students who take advantage of the opportunity of a 48-week work placement, or even a shorter time in industry or commerce, are better prepared to enter the job market. At Huddersfield we don’t charge tuition fees for your placement year. So, you can earn during your placement and you won’t have to put that money towards any fees during the year.
Some teaching courses, such as the PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and the Certificate of Education in Post Compulsory Education and Training, attract government funding.
For further details please see the individual course entries or visit the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) website at www.dius.gov.uk.

You are entitled to the same grants as students who start university straight from school.
If you have children to look after, a childcare grant is available while you are studying full-time.
Students returning to education and students with children may also be able to get help from University funds.
