Teaching tailored to your needs

Most of our students are over the age of 21 and our teaching styles reflect your particular needs. Our purpose built accommodation, Lockside, occupies an attractive position on the University campus and offers high quality facilities including PC labs.

Excellent employment opportunities

71.4% of graduates from full-time, first degree courses from the University of Huddersfield’s School of Education and Professional Development, in the academic year 2006/07, went into employment only. This is much higher than the national comparable figure for full-time, first degree graduates which was 64%.

The mean salary this year, taken from those Education and Professional Development graduates who chose to answer this question, was £23,377, which is way above the national average for those graduates who responded, of £19,000.

Some examples of the careers chosen by School of Education and Professional Development graduates are, Adult and Community Lecturer, Teacher, Youth Officer, Diversity Trainer, Lab Technician, Lecturer, Librarian and News Editor. We have graduates employed by BUPA, Cumbria Police, NHS and the National Crime Squad, as well as many schools and colleges throughout the UK.
