Enterprise in the Curriculum

The Enterprise Team can help you embed enterprise into the curriculum, providing advice on new content, activities, and types of assessments.  Contact Kelly Smith for further details. Bodies such as Enterprise Educators UK, and the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship can also help with training and resources.


Enterprise Educators' Forum

A new Enterprise Educators' Forum is being set up to give information on enterprise education initiatives, share good practice, and to support each other in the development of new learning opportunities.  Details will soon be available on the Staff Development website and handbook.

The third Enterprise Educators Forum will take place 11 February 2010, 2:00-4:00, in the Large Conference Room on Level 7 of Central Services Building.  Please register through Staff Development, and contact Kelly Smith, or the Research and Enterprise Office on ex 3079 if you would like be kept informed of future meetings.


Enterprise Education Research Group

A new multi-disciplinary research group with support on Blackboard has been set up for those interested in research into enterprise and entrepreneurship education. Contact Kelly Smith for further details.

A call has been made for papers on 'Developing the Enterprising Individual' for a special issue of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research.  Further details...

Links to Reports

Regional1, National2, and European3 policy reports have recently recognised the need for increased provision of enterprise and entrepreneurship education within all subject areas of HE.  The reports call for a range of activity including embedding into the subject-specific curriculum, provision of dedicated  subject-specific enterprise-related programmes, extra-curricular courses and training, and support for student business start-up.
