Eating out in Huddersfield

Revolution is a great place to start the week, because every Monday, you can get a wide selection from their menu for half the price. The Revs menu is full of tempting dishes; you can order delicious sharing platters, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. It’s a great place to go after uni or to take your parents if they come for a visit.
If you haven’t been to Nandos in Huddersfield, or anywhere else for that matter, then you are seriously missing out. Whether you’re a spice fiend, or have tamer tastes, there’s something on the menu for you. At Nandos, you decide on your meal, and then you decide how spicy you’d like it, ranging from plain, to extra hot! Check out their menu – we’re sure there will be something that appeals to everyone.
Bar Maroc is a cosy little venue, located right at the edge of town, upstairs from Bar 1:22. With a fantastic Moroccan style interior, friendly and welcoming staff and bargain food prices, it’s definitely a place worth visiting for food or just to grab some cocktails. Maroc’s speciality is their famous homemade pizza. You can choose from a variety of toppings, their special hummus pizza is a must try. They also offer vegan pizza bases now as well!
Discovery Bay is an ambassador for Caribbean food in Huddersfield. It’s a fantastic Caribbean restaurant located in Huddersfield town centre, with the passion to bring Caribbean food to the masses. They offer a wide range of starters and mains, catering for all tastes. The restaurant has featured on Gordon Ramsay’s ‘The F Word’ and one of the chefs also featured as Gary Rhodes sous-chef in a BBC show. If you are looking for the wow factor, this is the place for you.
Turtle Bay is part of a small chain of Caribbean restaurants. They have a really varied menu with lots of delicious choices, and if you have someone in your group who isn’t keen on spice you can ask in advance for their meal to be cooked mild. The puddings are especially delicious but the greatest thing is that they offer 2for1 cocktails almost all day, every day from their huge cocktail menu!
For Indian food in Huddersfield, a great place to eat is the Chilli Lounge, located near the train station. They offer a selection of traditional and modern dishes as well as offering a la carte Indian dining. The Chilli Lounge carefully select and grind their own spices for that true authentic Indian flavour and are constantly experimenting with new recipes to provide customers with new and exciting dishes. They also serve a buffet on Thursdays and Saturdays!

This new addition to Huddersfield is great! All you can eat Chinese buffet? Yes please! As well as all the usual dishes you would expect, they also have several stations where you can have your choice of food cooked fresh in front of you. And to top it off they have a great selection of puddings, sweet dispensers, an ice cream machine and a chocolate fountain!
In addition to all the great places to eat, once a year, Huddersfield hosts its very own Food and Drink Festival. The festival is absolutely free to attend, and is the largest of its kind for miles around. With over 70 stalls, loads of cookery demonstrations and even live music and entertainment, it’s one of the highlights of the year in Huddersfield town centre. The festival happens annually in August, and is not to be missed!
