Alex Hirschfield was appointed Professor of Criminology in September 2004. The ACC consists of a vibrant, active research team who have undertaken a broad programme of work in the areas of criminology, crime reduction and community safety.

The ACC has recently been successful and securing funding in excess of £400,000 for nine new research projects. They include pioneering research and cover some of the most high profile topics such as gangs and gun crime, violent extremism, alcohol-related violence and designing out crime.
