Classic Concepts of the Left

In November 2002, the Division of Criminology, Sociology & Politics arranged a follow up conference 'Classic Concepts of the Left' . The conference examined how concepts such as class, exploitation, imperialism are absent from academic and public policy debates on the left as well as the right of British politics. The conference evaluated whether they are indeed obsolete, or whether they can contribute to an understanding of existing society that can help change it for the better.
