Aftab Afzal from Salalah in Oman is currently studying the BEng Electronic & Communications Engineering at the university.
After discovering our portfolio of courses on the internet, Aftab came to the UK because of the reputation a degree has across the world. “My course is of huge interest and importance to me. I chose it because of the scope of employment opportunities in the Middle-East.
I very much like Huddersfield because it’s very affordable for overseas students to live and study in and an extremely friendly town. My tutors are really co-operative and the facilities on campus are very impressive”.
Aftab is very much looking forward to taking his knowledge, skills and training from his degree and contributing to humanity.
Qahtan Al-Yarubi from Izki, Oman is studying his PhD and completed his MSc Engineering Control Systems and Instrumentation at the University.
“I discovered the University through a Huddersfield graduate who recommended it to me. Since I arrived I would describe the town as a small version of the UK. You can find everything you need including shopping centres, places to visit and to socialise.
The educational environment in the UK is very encouraging, especially the mature manner of the tutors. They really understand where international students come from and break the boundaries to help you feel at home. This encouraged me to continue my studies here. The people are so amazing and very helpful and have made my time in Huddersfield so comfortable.
When I complete my research I plan on moving back to Oman to work for my sponsor (Oil Company) as a Supervisor but also have plans to teach back in my home country too.
The University continues to welcome famous and influential visitors to its campus.
