I believe the UK will provide me a chance to interact worth proficient people from different educational backgrounds. “I discovered Huddersfield through a web search and noticed they had a high reputation for teaching quality, good Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) rankings in the UK and have a good name for developing educational and professional excellence among their students.

“Supply Chain Management is becoming an important competitive tool with the growing business world and became evident that with my experience in Engineering Sales and Services, my course can support my undergraduate degree in Engineering. My course equips its students with the essential knowledge required to give a competitive position within the markets to the business they deal in.

“My first impression of the University was that it has a calm and competitive atmosphere with excellent learning facilities. The University offers computing labs, 24-hour accessible library and my tutors and other students all have smiling faces to welcome me to this great institution. Life in Huddersfield is really enjoyable as you can find everything well in access and the people around the town are very helpful. “Achieving a competitive scholarship like DFID made my dreams come true and study in the UK. The scholarship has helped me to remain free from financial woes and worries and has allowed me to focus on my studies.”

“The campus is vast, catering to a student’s every need with efficient and effective facilities. Also the University provides the students with opportunities of placements and career coaching for their professional future.

“When I finish my degree I hope to start my PhD at the University of Huddersfield."

Aisha Jilani

Aisha Jilani from Rawalpindi graduated from Huddersfield with an MSc Internet and Enterprise Systems and is now studying her PhD in Artificial Intelligence – Computer Science at the University.

“I discovered the University of Huddersfield through my Uncle who was a previous student at Huddersfield and he recommended this as a great place to study. He convinced me of the friendly culture that the UK has towards internationals and so my mind was made up.

“Huddersfield has a prominent Asian population which makes me feel more at home. The University is at the heart of the town and offers facilities that you need for a comfortable lifestyle and prosperous education.

“Since I completed my Master’s here I have gone on to do my PhD. The supervisors here are brilliant and the tutors are very supportive”.

Aisha is now working as a Lecturer at the University and has also began her PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

Mohammad Anwar Khan from South Waziristan is currently studying the ACCA at the University.

After completing his studies in English Literature, Mohammad searched the internet for ACCA courses and discovered Huddersfield. "I have always wanted to study in the UK because of the highly progressive cosmopolitan culture and the advanced techniques and facilities.

Huddersfield offered me a great structure along with workshops, tutorials alongside lectures for my course. It gives you a deep insight and I would strongly recommend it. The fees and cost of living are very affordable and well manageable.

The town is very scenic with great landscapes and a beautiful town. I also like the fact that the campus is situated in the town centre. The people seem so friendly and kind which is nice. On campus, there is great student interaction especially among international students which helps my development".

After graduating, Mohammad would like to gain some work experience within the U.N. or set up his own business.

Muhammad Nadeem from Multan, Pakistan is currently studying the MSc Information Systems degree at the University.

“I completed my Masters in Computer Science in Pakistan and wanted to improve my all-round skills and come to the UK.

Since I have arrived in Huddersfield I have been so impressed with the friendly environment. Also the location of the University is perfect as it is directly in the town-centre which makes it easier for students to get around.

The tutors are so professional, co-operative and very supportive and I like the facilities especially the library. I am also happy that there is a prayer room to fit my religious duties. As an international student I can say that it is one of the nest universities in the UK for both study and living environment”.

After graduating Muhammad will be looking to focus on his PhD.

Muhammad Qasim

Muhammad Qasim from Jhang Sadar in Pakistan graduated with an MSc Analytical Chemistry degree from the University.

"I decided that I needed to improve my theoretical and practical skills and therefore came to study in the UK. After researching UK universities, I decided that Huddersfield offered a good course structure and was a very economical place to live and study in.

"I found Huddersfield a dream place with a friendly atmosphere and its compact combination of facilities and multi-cultural environment. There are lots of things to do for students both within the town and near the campus including cheap eating out options, supermarkets, book shops and leisure complexes. There is also a 24-hour computing centre on campus and several shops and bars.

"The University is constantly developing with new facilities all the time keeping a very modern feel to it. The University is a great place to go and I think Huddersfield is a lovely area for everyone, even students."
