Creative Writing at the University of Huddersfield includes Poetry Karaoke with Michael Stewart and David Gill
Our degrees provide you with a thorough grounding in the study of language and/or literature and the chance to develop your writing through a range of writing modules. The courses are designed to give you the skills and knowledge you'll need for a range of graduate careers such as teaching, marketing, PR, as well as developing the skills necessary to make a platform for a career in writing. This could mean fiction, poetry, biography, autobiography, writing for the internet, or simply writing that novel you always had in you.
At Huddersfield, you will find that the programme of study considers other players in the writing game as well - looking at the work of agents, editors, publishers, Literature Development officers and others, as well as the ins and outs of copyright and contracts. Our students and staff enjoy a lively working environment where there are many opportunities to get involved in performances and readings of their work.
