The School of Music, Humanities and Media is known for its outstanding facilities which are regularly updated to support the innovative teaching and learning that takes place in all its subject areas.

All teaching areas have been recently refurbished with up-to-date equipment which is contemporary and functional and designed to be adaptable to the learning needs.  The special ‘wow rooms’ in our History and English areas consist of video conferencing equipment, interactive smart boards with all-round ceiling projection and audio-visual cabinets with the usual cd/dvd/vhs playback and pc and laptop connections.

£¾ million was spent over the summer of 2009 on completely updating the TV, radio and editing equipment housed in Journalism and Media.

The School houses 14 labs, of which the Modern Languages has two rooms, loaded with Sanako language-learning software and digital satellite TV connected to stations around the world.  The computer labs across the School’s sites give you easy access to specialist software such as Sibelius and Avid.

All our technical facilities are supported by a bespoke team of technical staff.
