£¾ million was spent in the summer of 2009 on installing digital broadcast facilities that reflect the requirements of the media industry. 

The Panasonic HD Television Studio, the two digital radio studios and the broadcast media location and editing facilities enable you to work on equipment that you will find in all professional environments.  This will allow you to acquire the ‘hands-on’ skills you will need for your chosen profession.

The maintenance and development of this state-of-the-art equipment supports the innovative teaching and learning that takes place in the research- and practice-intensive environment that is Journalism and Media.

We have close links with several local independent media outlets and practitioners, who work closely with us to help us develop our resource base and provide us with useful contact with the industry.
