A recital of music by J.S.Bach, performed by a charismatic musician, who through his outstanding atmospheric recordings for BBC 2 on historic instruments in Holland and Germany, has converted many both to the composer and to the instrument.
Wissam Boustany has established an international career as a concert artist and teacher touring South and North America, Europe and the Middle and Far East. His recital is followed by a workshop with flute students.
Plus Minus presents Dikhthas and Evryali by Xenakis, works by the Danish composer Simon Steen-Andersen and two pieces written especially for the group by Huddersfield postgraduate composers.
A wide selection of contemporary keyboard music, from piano to distorted piano and pure electronics. German, Italian, Hungarian and US-American avant-garde music, including three British premieres and Ligeti's Etudes Book 1 for their 25th anniversary in 2011.
In their second visit to the University, Ensemble 360 perform Martinu’s Oboe Quartet and the Piano Quartet in E flat Op. 87 by Dvorak.

The University String Orchestra (director: David Milsom) will perform early 20th Century British compositions, including Elgar’s Elegy and Serenade for Strings, utilising period-sensitive performance styles. John Bryan will also conduct two masterpieces from Classical Vienna -
