At Huddersfield we have a number of closely related courses in nutrition, food and health. Our aim is to promote an understanding of nutrition and health and the importance of the provision of safe, wholesome food of the highest quality to meet consumer needs.
All students can apply for membership of the Nutrition Society and the Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Our courses feature opportunities for a work placement year which gives students a valuable experience in the real world of work. Students spend a whole year on placement as part of these sandwich degrees.

This new course provides an insight into the increasing role of nutrition in promoting health through diet, lifestyle and food safety. The need to communicate health messages is just as important as fundamental research, and these messages must be transmitted in a clear and convincing manner that results in positive change within the community.

A broadly based course that covers subject areas in food science, nutrition and health. The links between the major disciplines are studied so that students learn about food, its nutritional qualities and the impact that food has regarding health.
