Placements

All the Nutrition and Health courses at Huddersfield include a placement year in the third year of study - many of which are paid! Students keep in regular contact with a tutor at the University during their placement.

Why are placements so important?

We strongly encourage students to take up the opportunity of a work-based placement because there are many benefits to be gained. For example, the placement greatly enhances future career prospects and employability by providing hands-on work experience and a taster of life in a working environment.

Where?

Opportunities are available locally, throughout the UK and abroad. Students have completed work placements in all areas of the UK, within the EU in the USA, New Zealand and even Ecuador!

We find placements for students and agree their programme of work. Placements are discussed between the tutor and the student to find one that is most relevant to the student's area of interest.
