The 48 week supervised work experience (SWE) year is an integral part of all our courses.  It is not compulsory, however we strongly advise that students participate and over 95% do.

We employ a dedicated Placement Assistant and SWE Tutor who have developed excellent contacts with industry over many years, which is why we are so successful in finding meaningful placements for our students.  Students are paid the market rate and are given the opportunity to put theories into practice whilst gaining knowledge and skills which underpin much of the final year’s teaching. 

Students develop much valued transferable skills and increase their confidence.  Students that complete the SWE tend to perform better in the final year and have better career prospects upon graduation.   In exceptional cases, where students can demonstrate that that they have already gained the requisite experience, shortened programme can be followed.
