Aims of the service
The service aims to provide high quality and accurate information, advice and guidance relating to courses at the University of Huddersfield, and the Higher Education sector in general. We liaise with prospective UK students, their parents and carers, teachers, careers advisers and other influencers, both regionally and nationally, in order to promote access and entry to Higher Education.
To achieve this aim we have set ourselves the following objectives:
- Improve existing links with schools and colleges throughout the UK and develop new working relationships
- Promote the benefits of Higher Education and the University of Huddersfield, its facilities and the opportunities it can provide
- Continually monitor, evaluate, review and update activities and information to ensure quality of service and accuracy of information
- Foster equality of opportunity by providing information, advice and guidance to all irrespective of educational, cultural and social backgrounds
- Widen participation by encouraging applications from those groups which are currently under represented in Higher Education
- Encourage and assist the involvement of academic and administrative staff and students in activities with schools and colleges and in the wider community
