If you’re feeling hungry check out all the great places to eat around the campus! In Student Central we have Central Cafe serving Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Neo Pizza and Pasta, Just Burrito and International Kitchen offering a range of hot food and cold sandwiches. Grabbing a spot of lunch or a coffee with friends is the perfect way to spend time between lectures!
The Students’ Union is on the fourth floor of Student Central. If you need any advice or support, or are looking for student accommodation, pop up and have a chat with them. They also offer great opportunities to get involved such as setting up or joining a society and volunteering opportunities!
The University has excellent gym facilities to keep you fit and healthy. You’ll find the gym and the fitness studios located in Student Central. They are open every day of the week so there’s always a chance to go and let off steam on a treadmill. There’s also a variety of fitness classes to choose from and the memberships are really good value.
The University’s Library is spread over six floors. There are lots of resources for all students including books, online resources and journals that are really easy to search for and reserve through the Library’s search engine, Summon.
The Library offers floor after floor of academic resources for students no matter what subject they study. You can access The Library directly from Student Central.
During busy term-time periods, The Library is open 24/7.
The 24/7 computer room is based on the third floor in Student Central and provides a quiet space to study. It also has vending machines providing hot drinks - perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee during those busy study nights.
The University has a Santander branch handily placed on campus which is particularly convenient for when you need to open a student account. Santander accounts are great for international students too, as transferring money from abroad is cost effective and the staff there are happy to help with visa renewals for banking purposes.
If you want help finding a job to earn some extra money whilst at University or advice on careers when you graduate, you should pop into the Careers and Employability Service or the Job Shop in Student Central.
Disability and Wellbeing Services provide support to all students from dealing with stress to providing extra support for students with disabilities. They can also offer drop in sessions or you can make an appointment at a time that suits you.
Need to stock up on some essentials whilst you’re on campus? Check out the shop near the entrance of Student Central. They sell snacks including meal deals, stationery and food for when you’re running low.
